• Both allow you to easily modify the radio's scan list and import your own from spreadsheets. The copy/paste feature available in this software is not available in Sentinel. I have been using BuTel's software for years and I have been a loyal supporter of their software just as long.

Software package published by Uniden, for their HomePatrol-1, HomePatrol-2, BCD436HP, BCD536HP, SDS100 and SDS200 scanners; freeware that allowing all users to download and try, before purchase of the scanners. Both version give the user the ability to Update Firmware, Update the Radio Reference Data Base (RRDB), build, create, edit and maintain Favorite List, Systems, Departments, analog & digital channels (Talkgroups), frequencies and various other attributes including Services Type to Monitor all via the software package for Windows based PC's and not MAC (See Below) and requiring a free PC USB port a USB A - USB Mini B connection cable and/or a MicroSD card reader and/or adapter for standard sized SD cards. Follow Uniden recommendation on install.

HomePatrol Sentinel

• Sentinel for HP1 & HP2 with a Bearcat Orange Shield Icon.¹

BCDx36HP Sentinel

• Sentinel for BCD436HP & BCD536HP with a Green Shield Icon. ¹

Note: As of version 2.01, revision 00, Sentinel incorporates support for the SDS100 and SDS200

As we released the v2.00 firmware, we also cranked up the volume on our own 'Community Scanner,' listening intently to what you had to say about it...the good and the bad. Based on that early input, we've put together an update that addresses a few big requests (and exterminates a couple of bugs along the way).

Next time you start Sentinel and attempt to update the database, you will be prompted to download and install a new version. After you do that, run Sentinel and click Update --> Update Firmware... to install the new firmware on your HomePatrol-1.

Here's the scoop on what is changed in this update:

Feature Tweaks

• Move the UID Alpha Tag to be below the Channel Alpha (instead of replacing the channel alpha).
• Add 1-, 3-, and 4-second delays.
• Change ID Search mode to be disabled if either Department Hold or Channel Hold is active.
• Improve UID detection on P25 and Motorola systems.

• Fix Current Activity function displaying incorrect frequencies (Extreme, only)
• Fix a condition that caused the unit to reboot after Conventional Discovery (Extreme, only)
• Fix the situation where the currently held System would jump to another one when you held on a Department.
